Description

After buying a kywoo tycon on ebay for cheap I decided to get the printer working.
I testet the design for now 3 month and had no issues.

Main issues I had:

  • Heatbed cable is unsafe
  • Powersupply was not earthed
  • Kywoo Mainboard has loud drivers on Z and Extruder
  • Build Plate was not the best
  • The plastic distance parts from the bed wer deformed
  • X and Y Motors were pretty weak and I did not like the belts
  • Extruder and Hotend was garbage
  • Partcooling wasnt the best either

What can you expect with the changes?

  • I run 5.000 accel, but 10.000 are also possible
  • I run 25mm³/s max, but testet it also with 30 mm³/s
  • Because of the use of EVA3 many others extruders or hotends can be used
  • I have good print quality and part cooling
  • I use 10mm belts and stronger motors
  • all the electronics are in the box from lh-stinger

Some tips and tricks:

  • I use 257mm x 257mm pei sheets from bambulab
  • I changed the bed distance spacers with 8 or 10mm metal spacers and 1mm silicone spacers. So I could achive a kinda flat bed.
  • BL-Touch worked much better for me than 8mm probe. (for high temperatures)
  • You can use any other eva 3 compatible hotend or extruder. If it fits in the x-gantry.
  • I use fysetc usb adxl
  • I use manta mp5 mainboard -→ maybe I find the adapter for the electronic box and will post it here…
  • My holes for the linear rails were not aligned correctly so I put them directly on the extrusion.
  • I made z on 2 separete drivers to use z-tilt
  • I changed the z-couplers to more flexible ones, because my leadscrews are not straight.
  • My fans are 5015 from gdstimewith 8500rpm.
  • Because of the y-gantry most extruder/adapters wont fit, I tried many different versions.
If you like bowden, than the hotend from the 3d printer “the 100” fits kinda well after some modifications.

Noteable things:

  • I tried klicky but had no space in me enclosure. Could work because bed can move quite far on y
  • You loose 5mm on y
  • Z-height is limited to 215mm max on my build.
  • I trimmed the y-gantry where the yellow metal-enclosure was. This is not needed.

How to use the parts is all in the stepfile.
I wont write a full manual, but If you have questions just ask.
