Description

This simple fan mount attaches a 5015 blower fan to 2020 or 1515 extrusion frame.  I prioritized making the whole assembly thin while still allowing multiple fan orientations.  You can use this model to improve airflow anywhere you like.  It could be useful for curtain or remote cooling, or mounted near a heated bed to increase chamber temperatures.

Be sure to install the fan before mounting to an extrusion frame.  In some situations, the fan screws will be covered and not accessible once everything is installed.

I also have mounts that let you swivel the fan (nearly) 360 degrees: https://www.printables.com/model/1021719-swivel-simple-5015-fan-mount.

Supplies

I modeled built in spacers to keep fasteners the same for 2020 and 1515 extrusions.

  • (2) M3x8 screws
  • (2) M3 nuts for an extrusion frame

There are two options to attach the fan.

  • (2) M3x16 BHCS and (2) M3x5x4 heat set inserts, or
  • (2) M3x20 BHCS and (2) M3 hex nuts

Thanks for visiting, and enjoy!

Minor update: I cleaned up some of the CAD and adjusted a few models so that they use slightly less filament.

Minor update: I added some fillets, and a hole in the base to allow for upside-down fans.  I also added a link to swivel mounts.
