About

The tolerances for the Python dovetails are generous at 0.15 mm so most will have no issues at all just printing away.

However, if you're overextruding (flow ratio too high) or use some experimental slicer settings you may have difficulties joining the modules together. You're not meant to use a mallet to join them, they should slide together with little effort.

This is a small set of test pieces (around 6 g) to print before printing the big Python AMS parts.

Make sure you dial in flow correctly before you start, we've seen a few Python prints that were overextruded (although it's rare) so avoid that. The problem then is you can't join the dovetail joints and therefore assemble properly without sanding them down a little.

The Bambu Lab printers usually do a pretty good with automatic flow calibration but it's best to confirm flow anyway, sometimes it is very inaccurate and often on the high side.

For reference, most of my PLA, PETG, ASA and PC filaments from Prusament (my main supplier) print at around 0.93 flow ratio. There are built in tests in Bambu Studio that can help you fine tune your flow.

Print Settings

Print the parts as I've set them. The pieces print exactly in the same direction Python does so if these fit, your Python should also fit nicely.

Once printed, just slide the parts together. If they don't slide together, verify your slicer settings and flow ratio and adjust as needed.
