Description
Build your own cheap RGB LED Tube Light !
UPDATE : Step files added.
This is a cheap version of a tube light using a WEMOS D1 Mini, for the tube i used a drainage pipe of 40mm made out of polypropylene it makes a great difusor.
The LED strip ws2812b is attached to a aluminium strip to keep it in place, the top cap and electronics housing wil keep it in position.
Can be printed without supports, make sure that your printer is calibrated well, since tolerances are tight to make everything a snugg fit.
Electronic parts needed:
- Wemos d1 mini (or other wled compatible controller)
- USB C adapter boards (2x)
- WS2812B LED strip (50leds) (10mm wide)
- USB C Power brick
The tripod is a cheap grundig one that i adapted (bought at action) : https://www.action.com/nl-be/p/3008589/grundig-uitschuifbare-tripod/
Connecting is fairly easy connect the 5V from USB C boards, Wemos and LED Strip and do the same for the GND.
Make sure the data wire from Wemos (defaults to D4) is as short as possible otherwise a level convertor will be needed.
Use some hot glue to attach the Wemos mini to the PCB Holder.
Printed in Extrudr PLA NX2.
