Description
Pictures coming soon.
(If you downloaded some of the files before 7-15-26 delete them and redownload all the new working ones. They will look almost the same but the new files will work way better.)
In this design I reimagined the way drawers are stored by using vertical space and the chain to bring the drawers that are at the top to down to you.
There are some small edges at the end of the chain to stop the drawer from going backward.
The chain piece is the only one that needs to use supports and is optimized to not use supports printed on the model.
If you want to save a little filament and make a cool design on the sprocket set its top and bottom layers to 0 so it prints without any, set infill to somewhere between 3 and 5 percent, and set the infill pattern as honeycomb or any other cool patterns you want. And if you need a little more in detail with that check out my other model here that has a link to a model that goes more in depth about how to do it.
Print the amount of chain and drawer segments that you want then print the number of gears, wall mounts, and caps to make a shape or just a line. Then put the chain links together by first finding the sloped sides on the connection points and pushing them together on the sloped sides to make it easier. After the chain is together slip the gear onto the wall mounts and pop the cap on the end of the wall mount to keep the gear on. And last put a wall mount on a part of the wall that you want it and screw it in (use washers to secure the wall mount better) then use the chain already put together to measure the distance for the next wall mount(s) and screwing them in but leaving some slack so they spin smoothly. Take part of the chain apart, slip it on the gears, and pop it back together.
Update on the chain so it fits together better.
Update on drawer so the handle actually connects.
Update on sprocket so it works.
Please like and enjoy this model because it took a lot of time and filament to print the first couple of parts that didn't work.
