Description

I am posting this as a remix of Blackjackbender's vise grip welding clamp hanger, to give him full credit for the underlying idea, even though I modeled this from scratch.  That said, I consider it more of an "inspired by" than a "remix of" his excellent model.

I purchased several of these clamps from Amazon for use with my new Fireball Tool fixture plate/table.  Fireball sells good quality clamps for a fair price, but they ship slowly, and their website likes to charge several times for shipping to Alaska what it should actually cost (USPS flat rate boxes are a thing they've apparently not heard of). Additionally, I prefer the simple Vise-Grip style adjustment knob over the weird crank thing that the Fireball clamps have (Which I say as the owner/user of several of their Mantis clamps...  They're great for some situations, but I just like the knob style better).

So I bought these instead, which sell for around half the price, and ship for free from Amazon.  They came with a weird 8mm bolt that I guess is supposed to be threaded in from underneath the table.  I made some pins on my lathe to fit the Fireball 3/4" system out of some 4130N bar stock that I had left over from another project.  Since the adjustment knobs are bigger than the knobs on my Vise Grip welding clamps, I took the opportunity to model a new hanger from scratch, rather than try to scale BJB's hanger to fit.

I also made this a little beefier than the BJB hanger.  I have had ZERO problems with breakage of those (I have been using several of them for over a year), It's still a lot of weight to hang from a printed plastic arm.  As an option, I have included some holes in the CAD so that 1/8" metal rods may be inserted/glued in from the back prior to installation on your wall (or ceiling beam, in my case) for additional strength if desired.  I have left these empty on mine, but it was an easy feature to include.  The wall mounting holes are sized for either #10 or 5mm screws.  Don't skimp on your print settings; use at least 20% infill and a decent number of perimeters for sufficiently thick walls.

I printed this out of Polymaker ABS on my Voron 2.4, using a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.3mm layer height, 4 perimeters and 20% infill.
