Description

A simple, compact vise designed primarily for holding aluminium plates on a CNC machine. It can also be used as a light-duty workholding fixture for drilling, sanding, assembly and other workshop tasks.

The base includes mounting holes, so the vise can be fixed directly to a CNC spoilboard, workbench or another fixture plate. The jaws are operated with a standard M8 screw and nut.

Required hardware

  • 1× long M8 screw

  • 1× M8 nut

  • 2× M3 threaded inserts

  • 2× M3 screws, approximately 8 mm long

Insert the M3 threaded inserts into the printed parts using a soldering iron. Depending on your printer and material, minor adjustment or sanding may be required for a smooth fit.

This vise is intended for light-duty workholding rather than heavy machining.

It's good to add some grease on dovetail guides.
