Description
This model is a fully 3D-printed glider that serves as a fun outdoor toy, a sleek desktop decorative, and a challenging 3D printer test. The very thin wings require high precision and excellent layer adhesion to print successfully. While the glider is flight-capable, it must be tossed correctly and requires enough space to glide properly. When not in use, its minimalist design makes it an excellent decorative piece.
Printing Precautions
-
Layer Height: Ensure your first layer height is set below 0.1mm (0.08mm is recommended) to handle the thin wing profile.
-
Stringing: If stringing occurs, try reducing your first-layer line width (the exact amount depends on your specific printer).
-
Part Removal: It is highly recommended to place the print bed in the fridge for a few minutes before removing the parts to avoid damaging the delicate wings.
Assembly
The final prints should be connected to each other using glue for a secure and permanent bond.
I’d love to see your results! If you manage to print these thin wings, please Post a Make and share your printer settings to help others calibrate theirs.
