Description
This side panel connects two horizontal shelves as part of a modular shelving system. It allows you to extend an existing shelf unit by adding another vertical section, or to build a small freestanding (including desktop) shelf using two or more side panels and one or more shelves.
Key difference from corner brackets: this part does not need to be fixed to the wall — it is part of the load‑bearing structure itself.
Applications:
-
Extend an already installed shelf — add one more vertical section.
-
Build a compact freestanding shelf (e.g., on a desk) from two or more side panels and one or more shelves.
Dimensions:
-
Height: 150 cm
-
Depth: from 120 cm — determined by the board (shelf) you use
-
Width: limited only by board dimensions and strength
Recommended assembly sequence:
-
Screw the side panels to the board using two screws each.
-
Place the assembled structure where it will stand and mark the mounting holes.
-
Detach the panels from the board and screw them to the installation surface using the pre‑marked holes.
-
Reattach the board to complete the assembly.
The kit includes two files:
Original file in .FCStd format (FreeCAD 1.1) — for changing the height, width, and screw holes.
Ready-to-print .3mf profile (Bambu Studio) — optimized settings for PETG.
Note: The model does not include the shelves (boards) themselves — we assume the use of lumber of a suitable cross-section and fasteners based on the type of materials used.
