Description
This print was made specifically for Romex 12-2 cable in a ¾" clamp connector (see photos). The plug provides some protection against water or dust getting into the electrical box - however, it does not make the clamp waterproof, and it does not make an “indoor” box suitable for un-sheltered outdoor use.
I used these plugs on an electrical box which was mounted outdoors, but in a location sheltered from rain and wind.
Assembly and Use
Assemble the clamp and cables on your electrical box as you normally would, and secure the clamp. Insert the plug from the inside of the electrical box - it will be a tight fit. Note that the plugs have a very slight taper (they should print “small end” up); insert the smaller diameter end first into the the clamp.
Print Instructions
Print in FLEX using the 3mf files provided, otherwise :
- 0.2mm layer height
- 2 perimeters
- 20% gyroid infill
Use as “soft” a filament as possible; I used NinjaFlex.
