Description

This is an extension to attached to a Simucube wheel base (or other wheelbase with 102.5mm linear/145mm diameter mounting dimensions) to allow for the Velocitas Imperium DDU mount to be connected when the wheelbase is below or behind a monitor. The model bolts directly to the factory M8 wheelbase bolts and has a provision for M5 bolt (13mm above M8 bolts), where applicable on the mounting place (e.g., Advanced Sim Racing's Simucube mounting plate).

The length of the extension is dependent upon the length of the M8 bolt of your choosing.

Hardware needed:

  1. M8 bolt, length of your choosing
  2. M8x12mm countersunk bolt to connect VI DDU mount to this extension
  3. (If applicable) M5x10mm bolts to connect to the wheelbase mount

Printing:

  1. Add perimeters to increase strength, I printed with 4.
  2. 0.4mm nozzle
  3. 0.2mm layer height
  4. 30-40% infill (my preference is gyroid)

Post printing suggestions:

  1. You can self-thread the print with the M8 bolts of your choosing, but suggest using an M8 tap for a clean job.
  2. Tapping parts:
    • the protruding holes in the “LEFT” and “RIGHT” parts
    • the two inner holes on the “CENTER” part
    • any “NUT"s used
  3. It is suggested that “NUT”s are used between the bolt head and the “CENTER” part to hold the long M8 bolt in place once you've found your desired extension length (see pictures for example).
  4. (If applicable) 6mm “SPACERS” are included to slide on the wheelbase M8 mounting bolt, BEHIND the “LEFT" or “RIGHT” parts into the wheelbase mount.  This is reduce flex and ensure the wheelbase is tightly mounted.
