Description

Desktop rack model designed for home use. The rack is designed for 3D printing and its biggest advantage is its modularity and expandability. Thanks to this feature, each user can create different sized solutions according to their needs and preferences.

The work includes a few highlights such as: a module for smart temperature and humidity management, a module for attaching network devices and a module for a Raspberry Pi 5 single board computer, which is enriched with simple management and control through a rotary encoder, buttons and display.

Thanks to the former, the user can check the temperature and humidity status of the rack via Wi-Fi and view it on a computer or smartphone. The single-chip computer automatically determines the level of temperature control based on these values, without which the equipment in the rack could easily overheat. The second module mentioned, the network device attachment module, solves the problem of attaching network devices that are designed for desktop home solutions and do not have the ability to be attached to the rack as standard.

Compatibility with common racks is also an important part of the design. The solution allows for the attachment of network elements such as routers, switches, patch panels and other standard sized devices. The mechanical elements of the rack are designed to allow the equipment to be fixed firmly and reliably, for example using metal screws and nuts. The resulting model is published for public use and can be customised by any user.
