Description
Reconfigure your Nerf Pro Torrent!
[Scroll to the bottom for updated parts and changelogs]
I am a big fan of the Nerf Pro Torrent; but know that it may not be to everyone’s liking. I am incredibly excited to introduce my latest project - the Torrent RS2! This is a full 3D-printable re-shell of the original blaster - converting it from the mag-in-grip format into a more traditional pump-action setup.
The RS2 reuses the parent blaster’s plastic barrel, plunger assembly, springs, and O-rings. I wanted this design to be light on additional hardware; relying primarily on M3 hex screws and nuts, a few M5 hex screws and nuts for some larger components, and a single ball detent.
Features & Details
In its base configuration, this blaster is designed to perform similarly to a stock Torrent. My goals for the RS2 were to make it comfortable to use; fairly simple to build and operate; and perform in the low FPS range between 110 and 140 fps - which is my preferred range, and one that I think is most accessible.
The design currently supports a number of alternate parts that allow for a greater degree of personalization and customization. Depending on your preferences and the pieces you decide to print, the RS2 can be altered to take the following:
- Straight talons, Angled talons, Nerf Pro angled, or Nightingale magazines.
- Can take a standard 16mm OD metal barrel in place of the stock plastic one.
- An alternate front shroud with additional picatinny rails on either side.
How to Build Your Own
- Big thanks to SilverFoxIndustries - for making the hardware kits possible!
- Source it yourself. The BoM can be found HERE.
- Please refer to the RS2 Build Guide found here on Printables.
- At the minimum, you will need M3 and M5 compatible hex keys; along with other basic tools for assembling 3D-printed blasters/toys.
Disclaimers
As usual - please be careful. Modify dart blasters at your own risk. Always wear eye protection, at minimum, when playing - even by yourself.
This blaster has been designed with PLA in mind, and has been built and tested using both PLA and PETG.
Update [5-28-25]: I do NOT recommend using Matte or silk PLA for this build, if possible.
Follow the print orientations and guidelines found in the build guide. All STL’s should be oriented correctly. Feel free to add additional perimeters and higher infill percentages, should you desire.
----[CHANGELOG]----
5-30-2025 - Have updated the pusher to prevent rubbing/loosening of the larger O-ring during use. Recommended to reprint and replace if you are having issues.
5-31-2025 - For those having some seal issues, try using the dart gates found in the "Troubleshooting Parts" folder. These move the barrel positions back, thus pushing the dart slightly deeper.
6-7-2025 - Have uploaded a number of revised parts - including an optional top reinforced rail, which can be found in its own file folder. Most of these new components will have file names that begin with “R1” Big thank you to Valour/ValTek and Astropulse for their help, feedback, and modelling work with these parts.
6-10-2025 - Have updated all parts with slightly larger pic rails, as some have reported the being too small for certain attachments.
10-30-2025 - Revision 2 parts have been uploaded - with the aim of improving reliability. Draw length has been reduced slightly. If you don't want or need to reprint all the Rev2 parts, and just need a reinforced pusher, find both versions in the “Pushers” folder.
Final Notes
This has been an incredibly fulfilling project for me; and, should you choose to build one for yourself, I hope you enjoy it too!
I want to give a big thank you to Kylebernard83 on Reddit for a lot of important feedback and testing that has influenced and improved the final output.
Further thanks and credit to Gemeneye for beta testing, and their Torrent Skinny Pusher - which has been adapted to fit this design. And to Orion Blasters and SillyButts - whose lynx dart gate and SillyCollet were also adapted for some of the alternate parts.
If you like the work I’ve done here - consider following me on Instagram and Printables to support and keep up with my latest projects!
