It will help hold the plug in place while soldering on the wires. When I do my soldering I always keep the male and female together in case things get a bit hot. That way the pins always stay in place and don't shift. The plug just slides into the box and either or end will fit in nicely. You can temporarily tape your mount and wires in place to prevent movement and once done simply peel the tape off and remove your assembled part. I printed it with generic PLA @ 15% infill.
