Rack to store up to 4 kg of filament in IKEA SAMALA 22 l storage box. Each plate has 1 threaded hole and 1 smooth hole which enables the rack to be clamped in the box. Perfect (dry)box solution for occasional printing without too much work in building the solution.

The threaded rods allow for a optional future upgrade with filament on roller bearings (608). The filament can then be drawn from inside the box if you need the filament to be dry constantly in case of a printfarm for example.

Support plates in pictures are printed with Prusament recycled PLA, layer height 0,2 mm on a Prusa MINI.

Required materials

(2x) Threaded rod M8, length 33 cm

(2x) Filament roll support plat ikea samla 22L (Enclosed STEP file)

Assembly

Screw a threaded rod all the way in each plate

Slide plates with threaded rod into each other to create rack

Place rack in container

Unscrew both threaded rods to clamp the rack in the container
