Dartboard LED ring - slim

All the lighting rings available for dartboards, whether for purchase or as 3D prints, are large and, in my opinion, oversized. Hence, my slim and elegant design of an LED ring for a dartboard (Winmau, Blade 6).

Concept:

The ring is designed to operate without a solid connection to the dartboard, provided that you have a catcher ring around the dartboard. The LED ring is simply clamped between the board and the catcher ring. Therefore, the diameter of the LED ring is slightly smaller than that of the dartboard. Alternatively, the LED ring can be glued or screwed onto the dartboard.

During play, the ring is inevitably hit from time to time. However, the design is such that the arrows can hardly damage the LED ring. Additionally, the design is chosen to prevent the LED from dazzling the player, ensuring that the light is directed only towards the dartboard.

LED:

I used an LED strip with SMD5050 RGB. It is sufficiently bright and has all the RGB functions one could wish for. Fixing it to the LED ring is a bit tricky due to the ring being beveled. However, with a good double-sided adhesive tape or super glue and some clothespins, it works quite well. It is advisable to have two people for the installation process.

I have produced the prints in Prusament (CarmineRed PETG and GalaxyBlack PLA). No support structures are required for printing with an MK3S!
