Mô tả

While shortly using the Unitak direct drive gantry mod plate on my Ender 2 Pro, i wanted to test how much quieter two 4020 sunon fans would be compared to the stock 4010 and 4010 turbo that came in the machine. That goal was reached here, its remarkably more quite, even when the build fan hits 100%. Due to the sunons having different specs than the creality supplied fans, the range of the build fan is however shifted to 55% to 100%. With the current firmware settings, the sunon 4020 would not start before 53ish%.

Anyhow, the design is very much inspired by this single 4020 fan shroud and its source on thingyverse. Thode designs however have only 3mm corner radius and 2mm thick walls. Which lead to the 4020 resonating louder in the casing than anticipated.

To counter this vibration issue and make the design language fit the creality given one, to pair nicely with this Ender QR Code cover i grew to love on my Ender 2 Pro, i implemented following features in this recreation from ground up:

- Fitting screw mount holes for the Unitak direct drive conversion kit gantry. For reference. - Nozzle/Hotend assembly centered in the cover - 4020 fan output directed towards cool-end using an insert guide with means to let hot air out on top, additionally to the back side - 4020 part cooler output gets channeled into outlets aimed 270° around the nozzle - 3mm thick walls for few resonance - Inserts tightly mounted with screws form top ad bottom - Cute robot face design matching the size and design language of the Ender QR Code/belt cover

Note, UniTak3D claims its gantry plate is Ender V2 compatible. But each nd every ender v2 hotend cover i tried to fit had different screw hole positions. No idea if UniTak changed the design in between productions. But my model here is only compatible with the gantry plate shown in the stolen product photo above.

Obvious downside of using the UniTak3D direct drive mod on the Ender 2 Pro is obviously the largely shifted nozzle position. I set my slicer to 69mm x-min instead of 32mm stock settings for the E2P gantry plate.

I will keep the direct drive, since it does not make obvious problems with the single z-axis as of yet. But move back to using the original E2P gantry and adapt the current design published here, the the stock E2P gantry with custom dual extruder mount in similar design.

Would love to read about your E2P direct drive experiences for inspiration btw. Happy printing!
