Mic Stand Hinge

This model is a replacement part for a generic mic stand. It is not as strong as the original metal part, but with the additional flex of PETG and the small design changes made it is intended to stave off a replacement and give a little more life to an existing mic stand.

The design calls for extra perimeters to try and get as much strength as possible, and the plastic bites directly into the threads of the base. Installation can be difficult, so I found it was helpful to attach the mic holder clamp/hinge first and use it as a lever arm to torque the plastic part onto the threads. I also had a second person grip the base shaft to prevent it from rotating during installation.
