A case to hold your Raspberry Pi Pico together with a 1602/16x2 LCD display. Designed to be standing on a flat surface. The screen is tilted at a ~30 degree angle so it's easier to see from above. Has a hole in the back to lead the microUSB cable through.
Assembly
Consists of 2 parts. The screen is mounted to the bottom one and Raspberry PI is mounted to the back plate. Requires M2 & M3 screws to put everything together.
Some of the screws holding the screen are slightly difficult to reach. If you want easier access, you can print the included version with holes on the bottom.
The recommended screws are (shorter should work as well):
- 8x M3x5: 4 for mounting the LCD display, 4 for mounting the back plate to the main part
- 4x M2x4: for mounting the Raspberry PI
Printing
Should be printed with 0.6 mm nozzle or smaller. You will probably get better results with 0.4mm nozzle but I did my print with 0.6 and it was good enough.
Verifying the display board dimensions
Not all 1602 LCD display boards share the same layout and not all of them will fit this model. If you want to verify whether it will work for you without wasting too much filament, you can try pausing the print after ~5 mm height and checking if the screw holes on the case fit the ones on your component.
Attribution
I based a part of the model on Case for Seeed Grove RGB 16x2 LCD Display by McMatt who did the annoying work of measuring out the distances between screw holes and the screen.
