GoPro suction cup mount

Use case

Suction cup holder for action cameras are significantly more expensive than suction cup holders for household usage. Which does not mean that those for household applications are necessarily worse in quality.

This part adapts a typical “GoPro style” action camera to a frequently sold and good quality suction cup.

Where to get the suction cup

For around 3€ per piece, there are these nice suction cup holder on the internet, that are apparently mass-produced for different applications. They come with all kind of more or less useful appliances, like carabiners or hooks.

Printing

Simply print this part in the uploaded orientation. I recommend 4 to 5 perimeters and at least 25% infill to make the part strong.

I used PETG, as I do for all my functional designs. But I would assume that PLA works as well.

Assembly

Please note that this part is NOT symmetrical. There are little teeth that bite into the ratchet on the suction cup holder on one side. If you want the 10 degree steps that are foreseen on the holder, mount this part with the teeth towards the steps. If you want a smooth adjustment, mount it the other way around.

All you need in addition is one M5 nut and one of the typical action cam screws of course.
