Driver Station Post for Portable VRC Field
MOUN Field Control Phần cứng cho lĩnh vực cạnh tranh robot VEX di động của bạn.
Mô tả
This is a system of parts for mounting the VRC driver interface on the portable VRC field perimeter. The old metal perimeter included posts for mounting the driver interfaces, but no such solution is included with the portable field.
The main structural element is ½" schedule 40 PVC pipe. If you're a VRC team or event partner, you probably already have some, as it's used somewhere in almost every game. There are parts for mounting a vertical pipe to the perimeter and parts for mounting the driver interface on the top of the pipe. The length of the pipe isn't critical but somewhere between 24 to 30 inches feels about right.
Some #8-32 hardware is also needed to fasten things together - this is the same size typically used on VRC robots.
Description of parts:
- “Perimeter Mount V2” is my latest part for mounting the pipe to the perimeter, which sits on the outside of a vertical post and fastens with a screw into a nut held in the post (or all the way through the post, if the game allows).
- “Perimeter Mount V1” is an older solution which clamps to the top rail of the perimeter and fastens with a long screw.
- “Thumbscrew” is a 3D-printable 3.5" 8-32 thumbscrew for fastening Perimeter Mount V1. 3D printing fine machine screw threads was an interesting experiment, but be warned, this part proved to be pretty fragile.
- “Lg. Top Bracket” is a single part for mounting the driver interface on top of the pipe.
- “Sm. Top Bracket” is an alternate solution which prints faster and uses less plastic but consists of two separate parts.
- “Cable Clip” slides onto the pipe to help manage the cable running to the driver interface.
All parts are designed to be printed without support.
