On my Mercedes 300CE W124 was rubber boot on manual shifter. There are many aftermarket leather boots for few bucks. The issue is that original frame fastening boot does not worked for me. So I created new, more sturdy.

There are two dents in center console panel, so keep an eye on proper orientation of frame.
