FROST BOX Defroster

Instead of scraping the ice off your windscreen and/or paintwork. This design lends itself to the recent(ish) viral hack of using a ziplock bag filled with warm water to melt the ice in cold weather.

Why not just use a ziplock bag then? Well, the same applies for using a credit card in the absence of an ice scraper… The Frost Box has the advantage of keeping your hands warm during the process also and no one likes cold hands first thing in a morning.

The design takes into acount the potential for water escaping from the vessel using a double o-ring boss seal (using the 3d file printed in TPU or 175mm of 2-2.4mm diameter nitrile cord).

With a approximate internal volume of 180ml, simply fill with warm water (unless you're a psychopath, your hot tap shouldn't affect the glass transition of the print) and gently wipe the Frost Box on the affected areas. Alternatively, if you have a wheatbag that would fit inside this, you could preheat that and insert it in the cannister (always make sure you are following the heating guidelines).

The design has been optimised with minimal support required for printing.
