This is a 3D-printable replacement for the “VRC Large Pipe Nut Block” (276-8354-154), a part on the VRC Over Under field. The part is used to hold together the horizontal and vertical components of the elevation bars. On our field, one of the original parts failed when the barrier/elevation bar assembly was grabbed by the horizontal elevation bar, causing the press-fit threaded inserts to pull out of the plastic part.

There are two variations on the part. One is designed to take 8-32 heat-set inserts and can be used as a drop-in replacement for the original part. The other has spots to drop in a couple of 8-32 lock nuts, but this will require longer screws than the field assembly comes with.

This can be printed without support in the obvious orientation (big flat face down on the bed), but that may result in the part breaking along layer lines due to tension. Printing in another orientation with a bit of support will result in a stronger part.
