125mm x 60mm, (5" by 2 3/8") clothes dryer vent cover. Designed for a 4" exterior dryer vent opening with no flapper; see photo.

Our old dryer vent cover has no flapper, so wildlife enters the dryer regularly. I love random lizards in the house, but I love solving problems with 3D printing even more.

This hanging vent cover and lint trap is intended to

1. block access for (most) animals,
2. catch any errant lint before it falls in your garden, and
3. give you a visual indicator before the vent is blocked, unlike insert screens or meshes.

It inserts into the opening, back edge of the top first, then rotating the bottom forward. Overhangs on the front and back hold it in place.

For a test fit, lower the model by 32 mm so that only the top prints. You could scale the model up slightly for a tighter fit.

Recommend you print in PETG. If you have a short dryer duct, PLA might melt. I used transparent to make any lint accumulation more visible.

• 20% infill (not crucial)
