I did modification of Ender 3 for my friend and I installed there direct drive extruder with e3V6 hotend. I found out that pancake motor was not working but I needed to use printer that day. So I recreated holder for X-axis endstop. This holder made impossible to use original creality extruder motor with direct drive. On this printer dual Z drive was installed so weight should not be big deal… but of course is better to use pancake motor. But even with this original motor it works pretty well.

You can print this holder in one shot, no supports needed. You just need to use shorter bolt.
