Mô tả
The table crank handle for my drill press was broken. I could have easily bought a replacement, but I was not too fond of that handle style; I wanted a round one.
So I found this crank handle, but the smallest shank size I could find was ¾". Using the three screws provided meant you definitely could get it attached and functional, but getting it nice and perpendicular wasn't as easy. So, I created this adapter shim that solved the problem and made the handle feel very solid.
Install
- Install the adapter into the handle first.
- Install one grub screw in the opening that lines up with the flat section of the shaft, but only screw it in enough to keep the adapter oriented correctly.
- Install it on the shaft. Gentle tapping may be necessary to get it fully seated.
- Install the remaining grub screws.
- Tighten the one screw that makes contact with the shaft fully.
- Tighten the remaining screws just so that they're snug; you don't want to crack the plastic.
Tips
- The sliced file is for site metrics only; the best results come from slicing your own.
