Mô tả

I made these models to allow me to use my FT-6 as part of my professional print farm. This upgrade represents the features, functionality and part selection that I find desirable for my use. I prioritized ease of serviceability in the head as this is critical for high uptime and reliability. I will not be supporting other extruders or hot-ends.

This document is intended for experienced printer builders or anyone with a little patience and the ability to use Google and Youtube. It will not include every step required.

The main features of this upgrade are:

  • 500 mm/s moves
  • 5000 mm/s2 acceleration
  • 10mm belts for the long axis
  • Twin independent stepper drivers on the long axis
  • X and Y sensor-less homing
  • EBB36 on the head minimizes wires running to the head
  • Super Pinda 8mm Bed Probe
  • Orbiter v2 extruder
  • Bambu Labs hotend
  • Only requires removing two M3 screws to service extruder and hotend
  • Klipper firmware

Printed Parts:

Note: These should be printed from a high strength material. I used Tough PC, but there are a lot of good options. Any filament should be dried for 24-48hr at 70c before printing (even if the roll is new out of the vacuum bag). This will improve strength and print reliability. Structural parts should be printed with 5 perimeters with 40% infill and 0.200mm layer height. Parts that mate to a 2020 extrusion should be a firm fit that requires a little force to assemble (shouldn't be loose, shouldn't require a hammer). Most parts do not need supports.

  • FT-6 Pro - Head
    • Print with 45deg surface on build plate
    • Supports can be added to the horizontal bridges and two EBB mounting bosses
    • Install M3 heat inserts:
      • 2x for Extruder+Hotend
      • 4x for Fan mount points
  • FT-6 Pro - Mount Hotend
    • Print with top large flat surface on build plate
    • No supports needed
  • FT-6 Pro - Part Cooling Duct
    • Print with fan mounting surface against build plate
    • No supports needed
    • Install M3 heat inserts:
      • 4x in corners for fan mount
  • FT-6 Pro - XY_Brace_L/R
    • Print on Angled surface
    • Install 4x M3 thread inserts for belt clamps
