Dual can handle for European 500ml cans

After many months of trying out different can handles and adapting them to fit 500mL cans i noticed they all have a common flaw. You can only grab them from one side.

After the struggles of wanting to grab my beer with my left hand from within the whirlpool this idea was born.

If you print this at 100% scale it will fit extremely well on 500mL cans, there is no wiggle room and it may be a little hard to get the handle to snap on the can, i found printing with PETG makes the part more flexible and easier to use but it works just as well with PLA.

initially i wanted these parts to snap fit at the bottom but this would make printing more complicated as the snap fitting parts would partially be on overhangs.

Print instructions

printing with 15% infill and two perimeters is enough with rectilinear infill, i tried gyroid but dont recommend its not as stiff as you want it to be.

if you use slic3r you may want to use the elephant foot compensation at around 0.2mm so the parts fit together better, you can see in the pictures the silver part is printed without this setting the orange has it at 0.2mm and fits much better.

Print time on the MK3 with PLA is about 4h 40 minutes the final weight of both handles together is 62g
