This is a remote control holder for one of those color changing LED strips. This is meant to be glued to my sons wall and become a permanent installation.

It should fit most of those LED remote strips with the color change remote - they all seem to look alike to me.

The “top” is left open so that the IR signal can reach the receiver which is mounted above it.

Note that I added some “glue” channels along the side for me to hot glue it to the wall. I am printing this with letter-side up so I don't care about the supports ruining the look of the “backside” of this remote.

Note that the glow in the dark photo wasn't easy to take so I reused another photo from my Switch pro controller wall mount thing for illustrative purposes. Also note that I moved the letters around and reoriented them a bit to get some “randomness”. Any actual Zonai translations are entirely unintentional so translate this at your own risk, Zelda fans!

Background on me and why I do this:

Design goals:

It should match the Zelda decor theme of my kids room

It should have one layer above which all else is a different color. Makes printing cool stuff easier for people.

I should be able to easily insert and remove the remote to get to the battery compartment. However, my 9 year old should NOT be tempted to just remove it from it's place since then it will be lost forever.

It should actually work (i.e. open IR port)

Printing notes:

Use supports. Note that the included gcode contains a color change operation right when the zonai letters start coming out. In my experience, do NOT use glow in the dark filament uless you know how to change a nozzle. Also of note, when I printed mine I just started feeding in the glow in the dark stuff at approximately the right time. I had like a good 10 minute window to swap the color!
