London Baby ! specs

glassIntroduction

Created these specs to surprise my wife for her birthday with a trip to London a few years back. Even though the design is older, it's still current. And we got great reactions on the streets of London.

Printing

PLA, 0.15mm on my Ultimaker Original I owned at the time, I used three layers with different colours with manual colour change, but a single colour would also work. I included the OpenSCAD file. As said, the design is a bit older, so the OpenSCAD file uses some deprecated commands. Nevertheless, I checked it in version 2021.01 and though it complained, it still rendered the glasses correctly. The glasses_3D.SCAD file contains the design. It uses Garuda-bold.SCAD and font_base.SCAD that define the font for the lettering.

One warning, the exclamation mark is a little bit sensitive. As you can see in the photo's, it broke off in my case.

Assembly

The temples (or arms/legs) can be attached to the main body with small screws. I used 1.8 mm flat head types.
