Drill Bit Protective Caps

Drill bit protectors are little caps that you can put on to the end of your drill bits to protect them when they are not being used.

They prevent the sharp and sometimes hot ends of drill bits from catching on loose bits of clothing, skin, painted walls and anything else!

Right now they are available in the sizes of 2mm through to 12mm, but I plan to add a wider range of sizes, intervals of 0.5mm, to be compatible with a wider range of drill bits.

They are to be printed without supports and standing up.

The holes are wide enough for the drill bit to fit in without much pressure, but hold it in place well. In case they are too big for your drill bit, you can scale the model down in your slicer.

I recommend printing them out of PETG due to its higher temperature resistance than PLA, as drill bits get hot after drilling, and you wouldn't want the cap to melt around your drill bit and fuse to it.

Even when taking the photos for this project I accidentally poked myself with the drillbit - luckily it had its cover on it and I didnt seriously injure myself!
