Remix of DoorKnob/Big Daddy Nose Cone
Đây là một bản phối lại nhỏ của hình nón mũi dochnob của Arogen67
Mô tả
This remix simply adds some creature comforts to the Arogen67 model. I have added a coupler, a nose tip plug that will accommodate a ¼-in eye bolt, and I have also integrated the plug into the nose cone (3 models total).
Important Note: Always double-check your dimensions and do test prints
Plug: I created a plug that has a ¼-in recess to accommodate a screw bolt. The nose cone is too tight for my bear paws, so I screwed the eye bolt into the plug and dropped it into the nose cone. Alignment is not critical but a good slathering of epoxy is called for. I filled the tip up on the threads to get a good bond. Also, scratch up all bonding surfaces to improve adhesion.
Please note: The epoxy will heat up these parts. It will be enough to deform PLA/PLA+. I used 5min epoxy and dunked the tip into cold water at about the 3 minute mark. I had no issues with deformation. YMMV
Coupler: I created the coupler with a couple of rings around it as an alternative to the shoulder. The nose cone itself does not have threads but it will screw on. I went the coupler route to give me a little more space in the rocket. The rings are not symmetrically spaced from top to bottom. The end with more space to the first ring goes into the nose cone. You'll figure it out ;). Epoxy would be best but medium CA would work here too since it isn't load-bearing.
Nose Cone: I modified the original nose cone by modeling the plug into the interior tip. Again, because of my huge paws, I can't reach, so this is not optimal but a dowel with a notch in it could be used to get the eye bolt into the hole for the plug in the nose cone tip. Epoxy is called for here.
Usage: I have not flown this yet. I am currently working on a Doorknob clone, but I will post some pictures/links when it's done.
NOTE: You should attach the quick links/shockcord/etc to the eye bolt before you install unless you have tiny hands.
Future:
There are lots of options with this nose cone. One could:
- Add a bulkhead behind the coupler and turn it into an AV Bay
- Add threads to the nose cone and use the original shoulder for mounting the eyebolt and turn the whole thing into an AV bay
I am interested to hear if this is helpful for you. Please post any makes and launches. Also, please give Arogen67 for the great models that have been published!
