Description
This is a bushing to repair the presser foot cam lever lock for a White model #1455 sewing machine.
The presser foot lever fell off of my sewing machine, making use of the machine very difficult. After some investigation, I found that the lever was originally held in place by a shoulder bolt; due to the constant vibration caused by the needle arm motion, the bolt had vibrated out and was missing. I was unable to locate the shoulder bolt for purchase from any of the online sewing machine parts outlets.
I thought about making the bolt on my lathe. After a bit of thought, it seemed like I could use a standard bolt with a 3d printed shoulder bushing which would be a much faster repair. There isn’t allot of stress on this part so PLA prints should last quite a while.
To install, you will need to remove the front door and the light bulb assembly. Insert the presser foot lift lever from the left through its slot, and turn it so the end of the lever is down till the holes in the lever and the frame are aligned. With the printed part already on the screw, install the screw. A little wiggling will help the lever slide over the bushing.
