Description
Not that there aren't a gajillion MagSafe stands on the market, but honestly if you are a maker, that's hardly the point. So I made this. it is designed to print in PLA without supports, and then glue together. I glued mine with 3D Gloop, put I am sure some CA glue will work fine. Each part has a locating pin on the corresponding part to make sure it assembles squarely, but those are not structural. I printed mine on the MK4 with a 0.6 nozzle with input shaping on the satin bed since my XL hasn't shipped yet (Seriously Josef, let's get cracking here!) so I can't test the multimaterial print version but I made it so you can print the flex inset into the PLA (it has tabs, see the section view below). Since I have the Pro-Max phone it has a very wide baseplate since that phone is heavy and can easily tip over. I also made it so if you aren't into MagSafe you can just rest the phone on the bottom lip and pull a regular USB-C cable through (or lightning I guess?) and use it as a traditional plug-in stand. The little purple clip in the image, is to lock a regular cable in place (I guess it provides a little strain relief for the MagSafe cable, and the little grooves in the charge plate and TPU insert are to relieve a vacuum so you can get the charger back off if you wish without battling the TPU.
Non-Multimaterial BOM
- wire-clip
- charge plate

Multimaterial BOM
- Flex plus charge plate (a 2-body 3MF of the insert in TPU/TPE and the outer shell)
- post
- base
- wire-clip
I made it in regular Prusament galaxy black PLA and ninja flex TPE, but you can of course do what you wish in that regard. The parts should not require any support.
CAD
I included all the STEP files from my OnShape model so feel free to edit. I haven't included print files given there is nothing special except for the multi-material version, and I don't have a way to test, and no way am I posting untested print files as that would be a jerk move (and not the good kind of CNC jerk move!)
Note the multimaterial variant STEP files are separate files as not all CAD programs like having two objects in a single step the way I modeled it, so they are independent
