I increased the size of the original so my 5-year old could more easily hold it as a toy.  I also broke it into three parts to make color changes easier and make the axe head out of TPU.  You cannot hand a child a pickaxe, toy or not, and then tell them not to hit things with it

The three parts are held together with a 1/8" nail, 4 cm long with the head cut off.
