Description

🌌 AeroBlade-6: Futuristic Winged Frisbee (Print-in-Place)

Welcome to the AeroBlade-6, a high-performance flying disc designed from scratch using fluid dynamics and custom wing profiles. Unlike normal flat frisbees that slow down due to high wind resistance, this open-blade turbine design allows air to slice right through the frame, acting like a high-speed drone rotor or helicopter blade in mid-air!

🧬 The Aerodynamics (How It Works)

  • Symmetrical Double-Wedge Airfoil: The 6 blades are engineered with a 1-way reflectional symmetry. This means both sides are identical twins! The disc will generate perfect aerodynamic spin-lift whether you throw it clockwise or counterclockwise. It is 100% ambidextrous and built for both right-handed and left-handed players.

  • Open-Wing Turbine Layout: By cutting out the empty spaces between the blades, this disc eliminates the heavy "parachute drag" of a standard flat frisbee. It slices forward faster and stays incredibly stable even on windy days.

  • Optimized Safety Edges: The cutting edges are dialed in at a flat 0.50mm to 0.70mm wall. This keeps the blades aerodynamically sharp for maximum distance, helps your 3D printer lay down a single clean path of plastic, and ensures the edges are blunt enough to be safe for catching!

⚙ Recommended Print Settings

This model is a 100% Print-in-Place design. It requires zero supports, zero assembly, and prints completely flat on your bed to prevent warping!

  • Outer Walls / Perimeters: 4 (CRUCIAL: This shifts the weight to the 12mm outer rim for a perfect "flywheel" spinning effect, bringing the total weight to a solid, wind-resistant ~80 grams).

  • Infill Percentage: 15% to 20%

  • Infill Pattern: Gyroid (Provides equal structural strength in all directions so the disc won't flex when thrown hard).

  • Top & Bottom Solid Layers: 4 (Ensures a smooth, professional finish over the sloped wing ramps).

  • Layer Height: 0.20 mm

  • Supports: None / No Supports Needed

💡 Quick Tips for Use

  • Testing / Mini Version: If you want a quick desktop toy or indoor demo version, scale the model down to 50% (100mm wide) in your slicer and turn on "Detect Thin Walls" or the "Arachne" wall generator.

  • How to Throw: Give it a sharp, clean flick of your wrist! The gyroscopic stability (spin momentum) is the "secret sauce" that keeps the 6 turbine blades perfectly level and floating across the yard.
