Description

OneSpool: The ultimate universal master spool for almost any filament refill.

I wasn't happy with the existing master spools, as they are generally designed to fit specific refill filament brands or got some weaknesses in there design. That’s why I created OneSpool. It is made for high compatibility, allowing you to use refill filaments from almost any manufacturer (~1 kg) on the market making it the last master spool you will ever need (hopefully :)).

Thanks to a modular spacer system, it adapts to varying inner diameters, ensuring your filament never slips or loose-winds.

Key Features

  • True Universal Compatibility: Fits various brands

  • Spacer System (80mm–85mm so far): Includes spacers in different thicknesses. Slide them between the spool base and the refill core to achieve a snug, secure fit.

  • Dedicated Label & Sticker Zone: Features a flat, solid recessed area on the outer rim. Meant for placing the original filament info stickers or your own labels so you never lose track of material specs, color, or weight.

  • Material-Saving & Rigid Design: Balance between stability and material consumption.

What to Print

  1. 1x Spool Base

  2. 1x Spool Cover

  3. 4x Spacers (Choose the size that matches your refill core diameter). If the provided Spacers do not fit, feel free to comment or text me and i will try to add more spacers asap.

My Print Settings

I printed my OneSpools with the following settings:

  • Material: PETG (at least for temperature resistance for drying)

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm

  • Wall Loops / Perimeters: 3

  • Infill: 15% Grid

  • Solid Top/Bottom Layers: 4

  • Supports: No supports needed.

How to use it:

  1. Measure the inner diameter of your cardboard/plastic refill ring.

  2. Print the 4 matching spacers (e.g., if it's slightly loose on the 80mm core, try the 82mm or 83mm spacers).

  3. Slide your refill onto the spool.

  4. Insert the spacers into the slots on the base so the Refill sits tight.

I hope you like the OneSpool. Since it's built for universal use, I appreciate any feedback regarding its compatibility with various refill manufacturers.
