Description
We created the TapeStack System for story cassettes and audio dramas to be stored appropriatly with a little fun factor, too.
It is made for common cassettes of the 1980s with size 109,5 x 69 x 17mm
This RACK is the centre part of the whole TapeStack system and can also be used as stand alone parts.
THIS WALLMOUNT VERSION has additional 3 mounting holes of 4mm diameter PER BOX and offers all possibilities for mounting against walls.
If you are interested in all TapeStack parts click HERE. And there are more to come...
About this RACK:
There are TWO ways to take an audio tape out:
-
By HAND: The shape of the box has been designed for READING THE TEXT on the back of the cassette box as well as to grab an audio by hand from the front. Even if you print a box for 5x cassettes the space is wide enough to use two fingers for picking one out.
-
By PUSH-TO-PICK: This is really fun and the working principle is very easy. When pushing onto the slider below the cassette it will be psuhed out to the front by a lever mechanism in the back. When putting back the cassette into the housing the slider will automatically come out again ready to be pushed another time. The FASTER you push the WIDER the audio comes out!
We recommend to print the housings in neutral black/white and the sliders appropriate to the audio series you collect. HERE you can find our TapeStack Rack for the complete collection of 37x "Masters of the Universe" story cassettes with color matching YELLOW sliders and red levers. Just for fun...
There are TWO different rack versions available (see pics):
-
NON STACKABLE version WITHOUT any fins on the top (but notches in the bottom) for allignment. Especially designed to be used as top or single level of your rack to get a clean looking finish on top.
-
STACKABLE version WITH fins on the top and corresponding notches in the bottom to stack racks on top of each other.
- Tipp: If you don't know how big your collection will become we recommend to use THIS version because you can additionally use the TapeStack LID on top later to get the same clean looking finish of your finished racks top level as you would have with the other NON STACKABLE version.
How to print different RACK sizes:
You will find the ts_box_10.3mf and ts_box_stackable_10.3mf file in the download section. It contains 10 boxes. If you separate to OBJECTS you can easily fade-out boxes of any number to get your prefered stacks of 1 till 10 boxes width.
Horizontally alligned racks can simply be glued together. To make that as easy as possible you can download the glue_helper.stl for perfect alignment (see pics).
Printing instructions:
I recommend to print in PLA except the slider. This should be printed in PETG because of the filigran pins at the end.
Layerheight: 0.2mm
Infill: 15%
I added some .3mf files to show print orientation and supports of the parts.
Enjoy & Have fun and please post your makes, THX!
