Description

I had my own North Atlantic Fella Organization patch concept based on the famous 1990s album parental advisory stickers. That wasn't available for purchase, so I designed and printed it myself.

In NAFO, "bonking" is the highly active debunking of lies and disinformation spread by authoritarian regimes and their agents on social media.  These patches advertise that the wearer is engaged in this important work, defending freedom.

This model creates patches of the same size as the NAFO fundraising patches available at https://www.help99.co/patches.

All models are 0.4mm high, making them slightly flexible when printed in PLA.

I print the shield in white filament, centred on the print bed.  I slice with Cura.  It's fine to use standard quality, with a 0.4mm nozzle.  Ironing the top layer improves the look.

I print the text/image model on top of the shield, centred on the print bed, using black filament. Be sure to use a Z offset of 0.4mm so this model prints on top of the base shield.  To express the fine detail, I use a 0.2mm nozzle, and select a high quality Cura profile. You may not want to iron the top layer of this, as it may displace some of the fine features of some letters.  If you have a perfectly levelled print bed and a slow nozzle speed, you might be able to get away with ironing.

After printing, I use contact cement to attach Velcro hook panels to the back of the patch, which attaches to the Velcro loop panels on my tactical gear and clothing.

Bonk recognizes bonk.
