Description
This is a Gridfinity storage bin for 127mm sandpaper. Cubitron sandpaper is 127mm ⌀ which is just slightly larger than what a 3x3 Gridfinity base can accommodate. Since it had to be 4x4, I wanted to minimize filament usage via simple risers instead of a deep, slotted bin which would have doubled the cost. As a result, the bin itself is not stackable. You can, of course, also use this model for 5”/125mm paper as well.
The tray tabs can be arranged around the perimeter as you see fit. I found it easier to print each tray with a solid color and then go over the embossed numbers with a sharpie marker instead of printing the labels in a different color, but you could do a color change for the last four layers in the slicer if you wanted to get fancy. The CORE One print bed can fit two 127mm trays at once.
I don't own a 150mm orbital sander, but I included pre-built files that should work. The Fusion file is included for people to tweak the parameters like the riser height and grit numbers. The Favorites parameters at the top are the ones to adjust. Disclaimer: the Fusion file is not elegant. I originally wanted to have a parametric way of changing the tray diameter between 127mm and 150mm and have all the extrusions and embossing generated automatically for either size, but I ran out of steam and decided to brute-force it. Customizing the trays will require some finagling.
