Description

'Print using 20% infill for durability, 1 perimeter for making support bend in the shoe, 3 bottom layers for the same reason, and 4 top layers for distributing the heel load more evenly across the support heel contact surface.

0.1mm layer height for tackling the 3mm radius fillet closest to the shoe, or else the printer will probably print in the air.

The height of the support in the provided .3mf file is 10mm.

The original model is available via a link to Onshape

To be printed on the smooth plate using 1 layer of glue stick. Glue takes up by 0.1mm, to remember to raise the z-offset by that amount.

My Prusa i3 MK3S+ needed to complete unscrew the filament spring, then tighten by 2.25 turns, or else the print would fail because of either too much squish of the filament or too little grip of the filament.

I had to turn up the nozzle heat to as hot as possible, then printing only 15mm/s. One might benefit from turning off the retraction.

To make the heel support conform better in the shoe, perhaps Ninjaflex could be used, but the more infill would be needed and my preliminary calculations indicate that using Ninjaflex would cost somewhere between $6-$14 per print which could be seen as pretty expensive.

Happy printing!
