This model is meant to be a phone shelf in the bathroom, but I guess it can be used as a generic shelf for other things, too. I've seen a bunch of designs that have the toilet paper holder integrated, but I didn't want to mess with my existing holder, so here it is.

It's not the most heavy duty design in the world, as the screw holes are located at the bottom and not at the top. With the top end unsupported, the shelf will naturally sag slightly when you put a phone down. If you care enough, you can put a bead of latex caulking or silicone around the perimeter like I did, which should stiffen things up considerably.

Be sure to put the layer seam on the underside of the shelf so it's not visible after the shelf is installed.
