Description
The battery in my K63 wireless keyboard I use with the K63 Lapboard died and was replaced under warranty by Corsair with the new K65 Plus. Unfortunately they no longer make anything that is ready to clip into the lapboard, so I decided to engineer my own solution.
The adapter uses the stock bottom clips, and the tongue sits down flush against the bottom of the cutout for stability. The sides follow the angle of the keyboard so it looks right at home in black. Included a replacement clip design I made to replace the stock swing-up top clips. Mine is printed in Bambu Matte PLA Charcoal.
I originally broke one trying to get it to clip into my bracket as I didn't correctly account for the clearance the clip would need. These fit perfectly. Mine are printed in ABS for the combination of flexibility and durability. PETG should work here too. You'll want supports for the balls on the ends of the clip.
Only discovered after printing the version I'm using now that the left and right edges of the tray taper in just ever so slightly. This caused the bottom width of that version to just be a touch too wide at the bottom, causing some pressure and angling. Luckily having the tongue at the bottom keeps the midpoints flush under the space bar, but it does have a bit of spring to it.
The “untapered” versions of the files have been adjusted with just a tiny slice off the left and right edge which should fit them in correctly, albeit with a couple mm gap at the top on either side. The tapered version I have tried to taper the sides just the right amount to fit fully flush. I will give this one a try myself today to ensure it fits properly, and update the files if it needs any tweaking.
