Description
1:10 model of the TOW-2A derived from publicly available diagrams and blueprints.
Printing/Slicing:
- For the wings and control surfaces it is recommended to use a thin layer height (less than 0.2mm) to avoid retraction related problems.
- It is recommended to print the body separately from the wings, control surfaces and probe.
- For the smaller parts you are going to need a lot of fan.
- For the main body it is recommended to use adaptive layer height, to achieve a good finish on the head of the missile without excessively increasing the printing time for the rest of the body.
- The infill I used for the body was triangular, it seemed to me to be the most suitable for a cylinder.
- Highly recommended to use brim, specially in the smaller parts.
Don't do like me here, use a brim ;)
Printed on a Creality K1 with Grilon3 PETG filament (Gris Acero color) and 0.4mm nozzle diameter.
Post-processing:
Depending on your printer and settings the shaft protrusion in the wings and control surfaces may be to wide, sand it down to 2-2.2mm spacing:
The sanded part is the shaft protrusion:
The actual distance may depend:
Sand it until you can install it in the middle of the channel with some force:
For the probe it may need some sanding if you don't have hole compensation.
