Description

This piccolo was given away by @axianoff_2745170 as a free promotion when the Axianov Irish Flute was first released. Thanks to work from @Roman_2878361 and Anna Bryusova, these original STL files are now available to download!

Skip forward to 10:00 to see and hear the piccolo.

Printing

Print everything in the alignment of the STL files. Be careful to check for seams before printing! It is important to keep seams away from tone holes. Rear alignment worked well for me.

Print in PLA at 100% infill to most closely mimic the density of wood. I have one with 50% infill and it works fine, but more infill should in theory result in a better resonance, and may feel better to hold.

Use supports on the build plate for tone holes in the main body. Be sure to place a brim around the head.

Assembly

Wind with 0.55mm waxed thread, adding additional bits of thread for a secure joint. There are many guides online for thread-winding a flute joint.
