Description

General

I designed this Flat extruder nozzle to spread the contents of a silicone/acrylic or whatever cartouche with the chaulk gun faster over a larger area. The opening of the nozzle is 60mm wide and 1mm high.

I also added a second model with a 20mm x 1.5mm opening.

I tried to model the internal geometry for a more even flow over the full width of the nozzle. There is a “distribution rhombus” in the flow path, furthermore, the internal geometry changes from the round threaded hole to concave shape first before finally changing to the rectangular outlet.

I originally designed this (for fun) to spread nutella on a bread with a chaulk gun. (Yes Yes i know the problems with fdm (layer lines and so on …) and food, especially when pressing viscose food with high pressure through a fdm part which is nearly impossible to thoroughly clean…)
Maybe someone finds other uses of the nozzle, let me know…

Printing

I printed with PETG, the model can be oriented to “stand upright”. No supports are neccesary. I printed with 0.16mm layer height. Removing residues (for example from stringing) after printing on the inside is challenging…
