Description
Printed a few plates of these for my wife as Christmas giveaway as they are really cute and since I ran into some issues batch printing them with the MMU, I thought I'd share the project file with the settings I used to succeed in the end.
Also I added the carrot as that was kinda missing :-)
The single model is easy to print with default settings, but when printing them in larger numbers and with the MMU, it get's a little more challenging.
First plate, I used a freshly washed and IP cleaned Satin sheet, hit print and drove to work. When I got home, half of the snowman fell off the sheet and and messed up the rest.
Next attempt, freshly washed and IP cleaned Smooth sheet, hit print and went to bed, Next morning 3 fell off the sheet again and messed up most of the rest.
Third attempt, added a brim and organic supports since the problem seemed to be the overhang of the tuft on the hood in combination with the MMU, some perimeters tend to curl up and with the added color change the layer time was long enough for the PLA to harden, so on the next pass the nozzle would crash into the curled perimeter, kicking the whole model off the plate when the adhesion was not strong enough.
Maybe just a brim would have solved it too, feel free to experiment, I wanted to be on the safe side on my last try so I added the supports on top :)
Import the 3mf as project and everything is setup, just change the printer and material if necessary.
The snowman are grouped in 5 so you have an easer time filling up a plate and keeping enough space for brims and supports.
Printed with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.15 layer height
The carrots are grouped in 12, again you have an easer time filling up a plate and keeping enough space for brims and avoid stringing if your filament is not 100% dry.
Printed with a 0.25mm nozzle at 0.12 layer height
They can be glued on with medium CA and activator
I used Prusament Pristine White, Lipstick Red and Galaxy Black PLA, purge volumes were all set to 80, printed without any color bleeding (just for refernce)
Printed on MK4S with MMU3
