Description
We really like our Philips water filtration pitcher, but it has a few issues, all fixed with this model that I designed.
-
Filling a water glass, the water flow accelerates as it drops to the level of the glass, splashing droplets of water over the counter. Raising the cup closer to the nozzle fixed this problem completely.
-
The filter is slow enough that I often attempt another task while waiting for my glass to fill. In case I get distracted, the overflow drains into the base cup.
-
One can accidentally touch the button to dispense water. The pitcher will stop on its own after dispensing one liter of water. The base cup holds a fraction more than a liter of water, so all water is captured.
We've been using this base for several months, so I'm confident others will find it useful. As seen in the photos, the base cup can be removed for filling tall bottles or pitchers.
The size of the part "water_filter_base" is 222x215, 5mm too large in Y-direction for the Mk4S & related printers. This was an error on my part towards the end of the design cycle when I adjusted the cup size to be able to hold a full liter of water. If there is interest, I will provide a version that fits in the Mk4S build volume.
Printing notes: The base looks great in translucent PETG. No special print settings other than avoiding grid infill.
