Description

This model is a standalone, fully-enclosed cryptex based on the same reliable mechanical core as the "Pringles Protector," but redesigned as a standalone gift container. It features a solid bottom and a customizable letter-lock system to keep your Valentine’s surprise hidden until the right word is found.

New Features for the Valentine’s Edition

  • 4-Letter & 5-Letter Versions: Choose between the standard 4-ring setup or the extended 5-ring version for longer secret words.

  • Optimized Letter Rings: In addition to three standard A-Z sequential rings, this set includes 7 "Frequency Optimized" rings. These are designed with common letters grouped to allow you to spell more words with fewer repeated prints.

  • Interchangeable Parts: All rings from this set are fully compatible with the Pringles Protector.

  • Decorative Heart Lid: The top locking disk features a heart motif with two printing options:

    1. MMU/AMS: Easily paint the heart in your slicer for multi-color machines.

    2. Inlay Method: For single-nozzle printers, print the heart component first, then print the top disk directly over it to create a seamless two-color inlay.

Design & Assembly

This model is a standalone container (no can required). The inner core is a solid-walled cylinder, perfect for jewelry, notes, or small treats. Like the previous versions, it is support-free and relies on a snap-fit assembly that stays secure once closed.

  1. Print Your Rings: Choose between numbers or the letter-ring variations. Ensure you print at least four (or five for the five letter version) rings total to match your chosen word or number.

  2. Assemble the Lock: Slide four inner locking rings onto the locking core. The walls will flex enough to get them on. Rotate them so that the gates are all aligned with the gap.

  3. Set the Code: Slide your chosen rings onto the core. Align your secret code with the inner ring gates and the indicator marks on the base. Press fit the retainer ring to hold it all in place (if you never want to change your code again, you can glue the retainer ring on).

  4. Lock: Slide the lid on and scramble the rings.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm

  • Supports: None.

  • Perimeters: 2 to 3 should be enough

  • The Heart Inlay (Optional): If using the inlay method, ensure your Z-hop is enabled so the nozzle doesn't strike the heart when printing the rest of the disk.
